Airbus takes a “heads-up” approach to HUD retrofit
An amusing video describes Airbus’ retrofit programme for the installation of dual cockpit-mounted head-up displays (HUDs) across its aircraft family product lines. The retrofit offer responds to China’s requirement that all of the country’s airliner fleets be HUD-equipped by 2025. Availability of the HUDs increases pilots’ situational awareness, particularly during the approach and landing phases.
