Late Night Heavy Aircraft Landings | Melbourne Airport

by HD Melbourne Aviation

The night rush at Melbourne Airport contains some of the best movements we have. YMML is a curfew free airport, meaning that there’s no restrictions at night as to when aircraft can operate in and out and a lot of airlines use that to their advantage.

The rush is in full swing from 8 PM all the way through to 1 AM and contains some exclusive aircraft that cannot be seen during the day.

The type of aircraft that are more commonly seen at night differs greatly from what types of aircraft are seen more commonly during the day.

Whilst A330s and B787s make up the majority of the heavy traffic in daylight hours, at night B777s and A380s are the primary heavy aircraft traffic.
