Airbus’ Sharklets: Ready for Retrofit

Airbus brought together customers and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations to finalise its Sharklet retrofit solution for in-service A320ceo (current engine option) Family jetliners using its “embodiment demonstrator” aircraft.

This full-scale demonstrator allowed Airbus to optimise the installation sequence as well as perform fuel and wing-alignment certification tests.

Airbus Upgrade Services makes available the full kit and service bulletin for incorporating the fuel-saving wingtip devices on in-service A320ceo Family aircraft, with the retrofit performed by customers’ chosen MRO organisations.
