A sweet solution: Bee honey helps Airbus think green

Airbus has enlisted bees to “monitor” its environmental performance with hives in two locations near the company’s Hamburg, Germany facilities.

Airbus collects the bees’ honey, which can provide key data on the quality of surrounding soil, air and water.

In addition to sending the honey off for pollution-level analysis at an independent lab, the company also produces more than 600 jars per year which are given away to customers, suppliers and staff.
