iStream – Optimised arrivals

iStream is one of several large-scale demonstrations partially funded by SESAR, an EU flagship project that aims to modernise the management of Europe’s airspace.

SWISS is playing an active part in iStream, an EU-funded demonstration project that is intended to ensure the best possible handling of the early-morning wave of flight arrivals at Zurich Airport.

In Zurich, iStream is decreasing the number of holdings up to 96 percent and the arrival distance flown is reduced by an average of 30 percent.
